奄美市国際交流派遣事業の一環で，５月３０日午後，テキサス州ナカドウチェス市の生徒８名と引率の先生２名が本校を訪れ，本校の生徒たちと国際交流を行いました。この日のために英語でのプレゼンを一生懸命練習してきた生徒会の生徒たちが，奄美高校の学校紹介をしました。緊張した様子でしたが，英語が通じた喜びを実感するという大変良い経験をすることができました。その後，生徒たちは書道と英語の授業を体験し，交流を深めました。休憩時間には商業科プロデュースのグアバアイスでおもてなしをして大変喜んでもらいました。放課後は郷土芸能部のパフォーマンスと楽器演奏体験もあり，ナカドウチェス市の生徒たちは日本の文化に触れ満足していました。

 

The students and the teachers from Nacogdoches, Texas came to our school to do an international exchange on May 30^th.  The members of our school council practiced speaking in English very hard and introduced our school in English.  Though they seemed very nervous, they had a good experience of making themselves understood in English. The students from Nacogdoches communicated with our students during classes in calligraphy and English.  During their break time, they enjoyed guava ice cream produced by the students in the commerce course.   After school, the exchange students watched a performance of the music of Amami and were able to play the Japanese drum and the shamisen.  They were satisfied with their experience of Japanese culture.
